"Twilight" star Peter Facinelli and his wife, actress Jennie Garth, have confirmed that they are divorcing after 11 years of marriage.
"While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children," they told People.com in a statement on Tuesday (March 13). "We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time."
The couple met on the set of the movie "An Unfinished Affair" in 1996 and married in 2001. Garth had just split from her first husband, Daniel Clark. Garth and Facinelli have three kids together, Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5.
Garth is best known as one of the stars of "Beverly Hills, 90210," and Facinelli became a household name for his role as Carlisle Cullen, the patriarch of the Cullen clan, in the "Twilight" films, the final installment of which hits theaters in November. He also stars in the Showtime series "Nurse Jackie." JJust one night before confirming the split, he attended the "Hunger Games" premiere in Los Angeles in L.A. with the couple's eldest daughter. He tweeted, "At the Hunger Games with my daughter @lucafacinelli. Gonna get some popcorn. Im Hunger-y."
According to E! News, the pair has not only split in the real world, but also virtually as Garth already un-followed Facinelli on Twitter. Neither has commented about the split on the site. E! News further reports that rumors they were splitting amped up last July when it was speculated that they were already living separately.
