The press conference began in typical 007 style with the iconic theme song and the reveal of the title "Skyfall," which was more or less expected at this point. Soon after, the cast and Mendes took the stage.

Craig was joined by Javier Bardem, who will play the villain, Dame Judi Dench,

Rumors have been circulating for months now about the supporting cast, and in recent weeks, the title "Skyfall" popped up on movie news websites after several URLs were registered.

In addition to unveiling the title, the press conference also revealed the official plot synopsis for the 23rd Bond film. According to the release, "Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost."

Mendes spoke about the place of "Skyfall" among Craig's other work as Bond, clarifying that the new film will stand on its own and "not connect with the last two movies."
