[artist id="3055069"]Nicki Minaj[/artist] plans to head back to the studio this fall to begin work on her sophomore LP, the follow-up to 2010's Pink Friday. The over-the-top rapper is keeping most of the album details close to the vest, but does say that one of her personas will play a big part on the LP.
"I don't know, I don't think I'm hitting up anybody for features for this sophomore album," she told us backstage at the Femme Fatale Tour. She added that the vibe will be decided by the one and only "Roman ... possibly. But I never give away all my secrets."
Earlier this year, Nicki teased an album announcement for September, and when she sat down on "Good Morning America" last week, she said she was going big on her next album. "My best work is ahead of me, not behind me. Stay tuned," she explained. "As soon as I get off this tour [which wraps this month], I'm headed to L.A. to work on this sophomore album and it's gonna be epic."
In a chat with MTV News back in March, Minaj was equally coy about any details for the highly anticipated release, but seemed to know a lot more about her plans for it than she wanted to let on. "I can give you an idea," she said. "But I don't want to. I'd rather not right now. Because then everybody is gonna jump on the bandwagon and say they're putting out their album the same day."
And as if all that wasn't enough, Minaj will co-star in the forthcoming animated flick "Ice Age: Continental Drift," due out next summer.
