There's no stopping [artist id="508574"]Jennifer Lopez[/artist] these days. Just a day before dropping her new album Love? on Monday (May 2), the comeback kid took to the "Today" show to premiere the video for her Lil Wayne-assisted single "I'm Into You."
The Melina Matsoukas-directed clip begins with the entertainer looking radiant as ever as she frolics on the beach with her telenovela male co-star William Levy. Wearing a bejeweled dress, J. Lo sings alongside her co-star in a flash of color and black-and-white shots. But the "American Idol" judge isn't the only beauty in the video — the clip features the seductive singer atop the historical steps of the Chichen Itza.
Along with the song's midtempo beat, "I'm Into You" also features an unexpected dance breakdown, where Lopez bursts into some swift choreography to a clip of her Love? cut "Papi." Despite shooting photos with Wayne, the video does not feature a cameo by the Young Money MC.
"We did it in Mexico in Chichen Itza. It was really beautiful. I've never been," the pop singer told "Today" show correspondents before sharing a personal moment about Levy. "It was funny because over Christmas, I had my whole family at my house, and every day my cousins and my aunts and everybody tuned in to this thing [telenovela] to see this guy ... I called my cousins and they were like, 'It's William Levy. You've got to get William Levy!' "
Asked why she wanted to hook up with Weezy for the track, J. Lo explained that the rapper simply has that undeniable "it" factor. "Lil Wayne is just interesting. He's different," said the starlet. "He's just not the normal type of artist. He's just kind of eccentric. I like that. I think other people like it too. He has the artistic credibility with the other artists."
Jenny from the Block has already announced a string of high-profile gigs to promote the LP, including an official album launch event at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood on Tuesday, where she'll autograph copies of Love? and donate personal memorabilia to the restaurant. She'll also perform her hit single "On the Floor" on "Idol" on May 5 and appear on "Access Hollywood Live" on May 6.
Keeping steady promotion throughout the following week, the singer will make stops at "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on May 9 and visit "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "Lopez Tonight" and "Conan" on May 10. Lopez's promotional circuit will culminate May 22 with a performance at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards.
As if all of that weren't enough, Lopez will also star with husband Marc Anthony in a new show called "Q'Viva," which will showcase Latin American artists discovered through a talent search conducted by the couple.
