[article id="1656033"]Joe Jonas[/article] had everyone buzzing when he announced he was working on a solo album, like his little brother Nick did before him. And just like when Nick announced his project, fans were wondering if this meant the end for the Jonas Brothers. In the new issue of Details magazine, Joe is quick to point out that he has not left his brothers behind.
"We're not breaking up, we're just taking a break," he explained. "I really have a hope for the fans that got older and went, 'You know what, I'm really not into the Jonas Brothers anymore,' that I'm able to catch their ear again with my project and they're able to go like, 'Hey, this is cool stuff, I'm happy listening to this, I'm not embarrassed listening to this.'
"I'm growing up, the fans are growing up. I've gone through a lot of stuff in my life so far. There are stories I haven't really been able to tell," he continued. "When you're writing with three people, you wind up with a sound that might be — not average — but, you know, expected. I wanted to do something you could hear in a club or something you could dance to, something that's fun — something that's me."
Jonas added that he's getting personal on this album and will release his first single within the month. "I think all artists have a right to write about what happens to them," Joe said, noting that he'll sing about "different love scenarios that I've been through, breakups, hurts. Me hurting somebody and feeling bad about it. I think there's a lot of scenarios where people might wanna hear my side of the story."
Jonas didn't say whether his album would have any songs about his current girlfriend, "Twilight Saga" star Ashley Greene, but she certainly seems to have made a dent in his life. "It feels good. I think what works about it is she really puts my feelings first. She understands my busy schedule," he said in the issue. "She'll fly out to my shows — she's been to places in South America that I can't even pronounce."
He even shows some love to his former flame [article id="1659989"]Demi Lovato[/article]. The pair broke up last year and she's on the mend after dealing with some personal issues. Jonas has this message for her: "I wish her the best."
But Joe isn't just talking about those two ladies. He debunks all the rumors about him being gay, saying, "There's nothing wrong with being gay, but I'm not." He added that he had his heart broken before he dated Greene. "I won't say her name," he said. "But I was in a relationship, and we tried to work things out, and she, you know — I was really upset because she — she broke up with me."
