Jessica Alba announced her pregnancy on Wednesday (February 16) in a way that’s become increasingly common for celebs: an online post.
The “Little Fockers” star wrote on her Facebook page: “It’s been a while since I’ve been on FB & I thought I’d drop by to let you all in on some exciting news>Honor is going to be a Big Sister! Cash and I are thrilled and wanted to share the news directly with you so you didn’t hear about it somewhere else. I appreciated all of the love and support you all gave me during my first pregnancy and will definitely appreciate it again this time around. Have a great day! Jess.”
An hour later, not wanting to leave her Twitter followers in the dark about the happy news, Alba posted her Facebook link with the announcement, “Tweeples – Wanted to share some exciting news… .”
This will be the second child for Alba and her producer husband Cash Warren, who have a 2-year-old daughter, Honor.
Warren took to his own Twitter page on Wednesday to share, “@jessicaalba are beyond excited about the news! Honor is going to be a great big sister. Thank you all for the wonderful messages!!”
Alba is working on Robert Rodriguez ‘s “Spy Kids 4: All The Time in the World,” which is currently in post-production. Rodriguez, who has collaborated with the mom-to-be on various projects, spoke to MTV News about the star last summer. He marveled at Alba’s ability to multitask as an actress and mother on the set of their film “Machete.”
“I was so inspired, seeing her on [the 'Machete'] set trying to be beautiful for the camera and yet having to [run off] to change her baby’s diaper,” Rodriguez said, explaining his decision to add Alba to the “Spy Kids” franchise. “I thought, ‘You know what? That would be great as a spy-mom, I’ve got to write that in.’ ”
