Nearly two weeks after news broke that Kate Hudson and Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy are expecting a child, Hudson's movie-star mom, Goldie Hawn, confirmed that her daughter is pregnant.
"I'm excited! It's exciting," she told UsMagazine.com. "You know, we're just all very happy ... happy for them both. What's more to say?" She added that she's "very" proud of her daughter, who had yet to officially confirm the pregnancy herself.
This will be the second child for Hudson. She has a son, Ryder, with Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson. Hudson and Bellamy have been together for nine months. A source tells Us that the actress is thrilled to be expanding her family. "She is excited for Ryder to finally have a brother or sister," the source said.
Back in July, Bellamy spoke to the Daily Mirror about his then-new relationship with Hudson and the impending date he had to meet her parents. "Things are going great at the moment. I am very happy. ... It's a little bit too soon to talk about weddings and stuff. Ask me again in a few months, though," he said. "I'll let you know how it went with Goldie — and then who knows?"
In the October 2010 issue of British Elle, Hudson discussed her feelings for the "lovely" Bellamy. She said of marriage, "It's definitely not something I'm looking for. But the divorce doesn't put me off. I'll just see what happens. I think a lot of times people are terrified of love and stop themselves from experiencing it. I don't ever want to get that jaded. I do believe in love. I believe that when you really open yourself up to love, it's the most beautiful thing."
