Over the weekend, [article id="1651297"]Demi Lovato left her tour[/article] with the Jonas Brothers to enter a medical center and seek treatment for what her rep called "emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time." In the wake of that announcement, her Disney co-stars are wishing her the best.
Hollyscoop caught up with Meaghan Martin, who expressed support for her "Camp Rock" co-star. "I'm so proud of Demi," Martin said. "I know she is doing the right thing."
Martin, who worked with Lovato on both "Camp Rock" and its sequel, added that the singer/actress will have no problem prevailing through the tough times. "She's a good girl and she will find her way back," she told Hollyscoop.
Brandon Mychal Smith, who works "Sonny with a Chance," also sent out words of encouragement to the actress, who he described as a "strong soul." "I applaud her for actually having the maturity to let them know, 'Hey, I need my space,' " he told Entertainment Tonight.
"If there's anything that's being portrayed in the media as problematic, it probably isn't," he added. "She is probably at home drinking a nice tea, just relaxing. This industry is very brutal and occasionally you just need to take 20 [or] 30 minutes to yourself. It's hard to tell production that, or a tour that, and sometimes they don't understand. They want 120 percent out of you and your body can only give you 50."
Live Nation, which promoted her tour with the Jonas Brothers, released a statement saying, "We support Demi's decision to put her health first and we send her our best wishes."
The star's parents [article id="1651353"]have released a statement[/article] in appreciation of fans' support for their daughter. "Our entire family appreciates the outpouring of support we have received from Demi's fans," it read. "We are touched by their kindness."
