Jennifer Grey Has A Brush With Perfection On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Despite a pinched nerve in her foot, actress gets two 10s from the judges.

Finally: Someone scored a 10.

Jennifer Grey and her partner, Derek Hough, landed the season’s first perfect score on “Dancing With the Stars” Monday night (October 11). During Monday’s show, contestants were scored on both performance and technique, and they performed on a raised stage, which resulted in their footwork being more pronounced.

Despite a pinched nerve in Grey’s foot, she and Hough grabbed a 56 out of 60, nabbing two 10s on their performance scores. Head judge Len Goodman said that they had excellent technique while performing their tango.

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya performed a rumba, and Goodman said that while Warner had great “lateral hip action,” he didn’t love the former football star’s posture. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said that the pair had great chemistry, but that Warner’s musicality was off. They scored 34 out of 60.

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy also performed the rumba, and Inaba said that she got what she’d been waiting for — for the singer to show herself. Inaba did criticize the relative lack of technique in Brandy’s legwork, however. 48 out of 60.

Former NBA star Rick Fox and his partner Cheryl Burke performed the Argentine tango. Inaba said they looked like the cover of a romance novel, but that their performance felt one-dimensional. Judge Bruno Tonioli said that their dance started out like Clark Gable, but that eventually some of Fox’s passes came off “a little bit like Megatron.” 39 out of 60.

Disney kid Kyle Massey and partner Lacey Schwimmer also performed the rumba in hopes of making up for last week, when they were told Massey’s footwork was atrocious. His footwork had improved, but there was still room for him to get better in the judges’ eyes. 40 out of 60.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Karina Smirnoff did the Argentine tango, and the judges weren’t too impressed. Tonioli said that the dance was “a big old mess” and that it was like “watching someone put together a puzzle that they can’t quite get.” 28 out of 60.

Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas did a sexed-up rumba, delighting and shocking the audience and judges. “What just happened?!” Inaba exclaimed. “You’re Mrs. Brady! You definitely proved that age has no relationship to how sexy and raunchy and dirty you can make a dance — however, I felt like it went just a little too far.” Tonioli agreed. “I’ve seen better,” he said. 35 out of 60.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas did a sexy rumba with Sarah Palin watching in the audience. The judges thought it was a bit over the top, with Inaba saying, “I feel like you’re just dancing for Mark.” They ended the night second from the bottom. 32 out of 60.

“Hills” star Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani closed out the night. They performed the Argentine tango and their scores weren’t as high as last week’s marks, but the judges still enjoyed it. Inaba told Patridge to work on extending her foot past her toe, and said she lacks energy at her ankles. Tonioli said Patridge danced like she was an ice queen and seemed somewhat detached, but in spite of that, she pulled off a lot of difficult embellishments. 46 out of 60.
