While Britney Spears' fans were hoping that producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins' tease in a recent Ustream broadcast in which he said, "Britney fans are gonna be so happy in a few weeks," meant that the singer would soon be releasing some new music, it seems that isn't the case.
Her manager, Adam Leber, took to Twitter to clear the air and let fans know it's still going to be a while before they hear anything new from Spears, who last released an album in 2008. "No new music news right now....Wish people wouldn't mislead you guys with BS info," he wrote. "Not cool! PS- The guys that ARE working on Brit's next album ARE NOT talking about it..."
However, Leber did make one big promise to fans: "Brit has a new mag cover & spread coming out in the next month or so which is going to be SICK! Will let Brit reveal the details herself. Stay tuned...."
When reached for clarification on the Ustream comment, a rep for Jerkins told MTV News that any conclusions fans made regarding new music from Spears as a result of his comment were incorrect.
Spears has yet to share the details of the new magazine cover, but did recently post artwork for her latest perfume, Radiance, on her Twitter. "Just got the imaging for my new fragrance Radiance and thought I'd share it with all my tweethearts," she wrote. In the photo, Spears appears standing on water, a slight smile on her face, wearing a long, silver halter-cut gown. The perfume bottle is covered in blue, pink and purple rhinestones. It's expected to hit stores in September, presumably before any new music from the singer does.
