With [article id="1639816"]Bono on the mend[/article], U2 announced on Tuesday (July 13) that they have rescheduled the dates for their [article id="1624872"]360° Tour[/article], that were postponed due to the singer's emergency back surgery. The shows, which were originally slated to take place this summer, will now take place in the spring and summer of 2011, with all tickets purchased for earlier dates valid for the rescheduled shows.
The band's longtime manager, Paul McGuinness, thanked fans for their support during the date shuffling. "We're delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play," he wrote in a statement. "It hasn't been easy to accomplish this and I'd like to thank the managers of the many venues and sports teams across North America and Live Nation Global Touring for their help and cooperation in making this complex new plan possible. Above all we want to thank the U2 fans for bearing with us. They're the best and the band wants to get back to where they belong, surrounded by their audience."
The rebooted tour is now slated to kick off with a May 21, 2011, show at Invesco Field in Denver, Colorado, and run through a July 23 date at the TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with more dates to be added later.
The band's 2010 European tour, which has not been affected by the injury, will kick off as scheduled on August 6 in Turin, Italy.
