While the other acts to make the cut still remain a mystery, it comes as little surprise to "Twilight" fans that [artist id="1191782"]Muse[/artist] have been confirmed for the "Eclipse" soundtrack. The band, which has contributed songs to "Twilight" and "New Moon," will see their new track "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)" hit the airwaves later this month.
"The first single on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack has just been confirmed, and I get to bring you the exclusive details," StephenieMeyer.com webmaster Seth wrote on Thursday. "Stephenie's very favorite band, Muse, has contributed a song called 'Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)' and it's the first single from the project. It will be out on May 17th. I haven't heard it yet, but I am very excited. The official soundtrack will also be available on June 8th."
The band tweeted the news as well, writing, "A brand new Muse song will be released worldwide on Monday May 17th! The track, 'Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)' was written and recorded by the band earlier this year and has been chosen to be the lead single from the soundtrack of the forthcoming Twilight film 'Eclipse'. More news coming soon."
In October, Muse drummer Dominic Howard told MTV News that there was a good chance they'd be on this film's soundtrack. "[Director David Slade is] kind of a friend of ours 'cause he directed about three or four of our videos for the second album, and he's a really great video director," Howard explained. "I know he did that really great kind of sick horror [film '30 Days of Night'], which was a bit of a vampire/zombie vibe, wasn't it? So, I think he's a great director, and he's quite a funny character as well. So, yeah, we might do something for him as well."
