Jesse James, who reportedly had affairs with several women while married to Oscar winner [movieperson id="8456"]Sandra Bullock[/movieperson], has checked into rehab. A rep for the TV personality confirmed that he is seeking treatment, but wouldn't specify where or for what he is being treated.
"Jesse checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues," his rep said in a statement to People. "He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage."
A source told the magazine that it was "100 percent his own idea" to check into rehab on March 26. Another source added that Bullock has moved out of their home and is "considering her options." The pair have been married for nearly five years. James has no children with Bullock but three kids from two previous marriages.
Earlier this month, James issued a public apology to Bullock. "There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me," he said. "It's because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way. This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me."
James' image suffered further damage this week, as a 2004 photo of James wearing a German SS soldier's hat and doing a Nazi salute appeared on the cover of Us Weekly. A friend reportedly told the magazine that James took the picture for "shock value."
The news of James' rehab stint comes hot on the heels of several public appearances canceled by Bullock, including the German and London premieres of "The Blind Side," as well as an appearance at the Kids' Choice Awards.
