'Harry Potter' Stars Take You Inside Wizarding World's Forbidden Journey

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint describe the theme park's main attraction.

Thursday's (March 25) announcement that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter would have its grand opening to the public June 18 at Universal Orlando was accompanied by a few details about the theme park's main attraction: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a state-of-the-art interactive exhibit housed within the park's replicated Hogwarts Castle. Now, fans have the opportunity to learn even more about the ride thanks to a just-released behind-the-scenes featurette.

As explained in the video, the ride will utilize footage of actual castmembers from the "Harry Potter" film franchise, including Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley).

"We are shooting an exclusive piece of film just for the ride," Watson said of the Forbidden Journey. "[It] kind of encompasses all of the best moments from all of the films."

According to Grint, attendees will be able to "walk through [the attraction] and see all of the different sets you've seen on the screen, like the Defense Against Dark Arts room and the [Gryffindor] common room." Additionally, Grint revealed that there is a "massive, actual life-size" replica of the Womping Willow that was created specifically for the ride.

The Forbidden Journey's story details are currently (and appropriately) forbidden to the public, but Radcliffe teased that it was "essentially a condensed form of the chaos of Harry's life."

While it's not known exactly how the ride will work, President of Universal Creative Mark Woodbury explained that the Forbidden Journey would present park attendees with an unprecedented entertainment experience.

"This is an attraction like none other in the world," Woodbury said. "It brings to life the most powerful stories, the greatest characters and the best part of this fiction in a way that the world has never seen before."
