What Are John Hughes Actors Up To Now?

We give you an update on the lives of the former teen stars of Hughes' classic films.

At the touching [article id="1633289"]tribute to John Hughes[/article] during the Oscars on Sunday (March 8), the late filmmaker was honored by many of the actors who starred in his unforgettable movies about young people. As Ferris Bueller would say, "Life moves pretty fast," and indeed, decades have passed since these actors' iconic Hughesian roles. Here, a look at what some of Hughes' former protégés are up to now:

Molly Ringwald - Hughes' greatest muse, Ringwald was unforgettable as the lead in his directorial debut "Sixteen Candles," as the popular princess in "The Breakfast Club" and as the noble girl from the wrong side of the tracks in "Pretty in Pink." Currently, 41-year-old Ringwald is starring on the hit ABC Family series "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," playing the mother of a pregnant teen. Ringwald is married to writer Panio Gianopoulos, with whom she has three children. Along with costars Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall and Judd Nelson, Ringwald was honored with the Silver Bucket of Excellence at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards. "We knew we were doing something great," said Ringwald that night, "but I had no idea that we would be here ... years later, and it would all still mean so much."

Anthony Michael Hall - Hall first made waves in a Hughes project with his scene-stealing turn as Rusty Griswold in the Hughes-penned "National Lampoon's Vacation,"

then went on to play the lovable geek in "Sixteen Candles," the brave nerd in "The Breakfast Club" and a guy who creates a gorgeous woman with his computer in "Weird Science." In recent years, 41-year-old Hall produced and starred in the cult USA Network series "The Dead Zone," and now has an entertainment production company of his own.

Ally Sheedy - Sheedy, who played the hauntingly powerful character of Allison the recluse in "The Breakafast Club," recently co-starred in the independent film "Life During Wartime" from director Todd Solondz, which had its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. Sheedy also starred in the TV movie "Citizen Jane." The 47-year-old has a teenage daughter with her ex-husband, actor David Lansbury.

Matthew Broderick - Although he's enjoyed a successful career in the many years since, Broderick will always be associated with his most iconic role -- Ferris Bueller. Broderick has starred on Broadway in "The Producers," and will be seen in the upcoming film "Margaret" opposite Matt Damon. Broderick also provided voices for the animated films "The Tale of Despereaux" and "Bee Movie." Broderick, 47, and his wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, have three children.

Judd Nelson - As John Bender in "The Breakfast Club," Nelson gave us his generation's greatest onscreen rebel. Now 50, he guest stars on TV series like "CSI: NY"

and "Psych," and starred opposite Brooke Shields on the hit late-1990s NBC sitcom "Suddenly Susan."

Jon Cryer - Cryer's wacky yet passionate character "Duckie" helped make "Pretty in Pink" the modern classic it is. Recently the actor won an Emmy for his role on the hugely successful CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men." He reteamed with his "Pretty in Pink" costar James Spader in the 2009 film "Shorts." Cryer is married to TV reporter Lisa Joyner and he has a son from a previous marriage.

Macaulay Culkin - Forever etched in our minds as the young Kevin McCallister slapping his cheeks in "Home Alone," Culkin recently starred in the short-lived NBC series "Kings" and has also appeared in the films "Saved" and "Party Monster." He has been romantically linked to actress Mila Kunis for many years.
