'Jersey Shore' Star Snooki Takes Over The Grammy Red Carpet

MTV News guest correspondent snags interviews with Miley Cyrus, Fergie and other 'Shore'-loving stars.

LOS ANGELESSnooki's great red-carpet adventure at Sunday's Grammy Awards began around 1 p.m., when the "Jersey Shore" star looked up to find herself staring at Judas Priest singer Rob Halford's bald head.

"Who are you guys?" she asked the metal legend.

There would be a lot of that over the next four hours, as Snooki, who frequently admitted she only loved fist-pumping house music, mixed it up with Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Kara DioGuardi, Flo Rida, Justin Bieber and new BFF Katy Perry. (Perry even posted a TwitPic of her encounter with Snooks.)

Between obsessively monitoring the comments on her Twitter feed (@sn00ki), she took some career advice from MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway as she bided her time waiting for "Shore" amore Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino to arrive for his "Access Hollywood" reporting gig.

"Yum! Oh my God, you're so hot!" Snooki squeaked when supermodel Marisa Miller walked up, expressing her appreciation for the towering "Victoria's Secret" model, who was barely wearing an upper-thigh-length dress and 6-inch red pumps.

When the 11-member Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles rolled up, wearing traditional deep-purple jackets and floor-length skirts that matched her own, Snooks asked the Best Latin Album nominees to sing a little song for her while she did her best coochie-coochie dance.

She was almost struck speechless by Imogen Heap's clear parasol and Christmas-light-bedecked oversize necklace, but when Snickers heard that the Crystal Method were up next, she shouted, "I love house music!"

One hour in, she finally hooked up with her "friend with benefits," and Mike willingly showed off his "situation," unbuttoning his electric-blue shirt to show his abs. Holding a bejeweled "Access Hollywood" microphone, Mike looked like a pro wielding the mic as a correspondent for the first time, like Snook, even though he'd just flown in. He even asked for a retake when he forgot who made his shiny gray suit.

Then it was Snooki's turn to interview Mike, who said he was jealous that she'd gotten to meet Sean Paul and Twista. "It's gonna be legendary," the Situation promised about season two of "Jersey Shore."

And, as much as she loves her castmate, when "Extra" reporter and "America's Best Dance Crew" host Mario Lopez wanted a moment, Snooks was off and running.

She really hit her groove when LMFAO made their way over, joining them in a shouted chorus of her personal theme song "Shots."

"Are you drunk now?" she asked the duo.

"No," they said.

"Let's go to the bar then!"

Snooki was excited to tell nominee and "Saturday Night Live" star Andy Samberg that "I'm on a Boat" is her castmate Vinnie's favorite song before telling the comedian that she loves the impression Bobby Moynihan does of her on "SNL."

"They say everything that I would say," she bragged a minute later while checking the comments on her Twitter page again, literally seconds before she was told to get ready to interview the founders of the micro-blogging service.

"It wasn't even the Twitter guys," she said dejectedly afterward. "It was some blog or something."

The men of Alice in Chains joked that they looked like the Lakers compared to the diminutive reality star. She rebounded quickly, trading secrets about having a boy on standby on the road with nominated comedian Kathy Griffin.

"You're adorable. Go have fun, sweetie," Griffin said.

While standing outside to get some fresh air, Snooki ran into Katy Perry, who rolled down the window of her limo and begged for a photo. "You kissed a girl — let's kiss!" Snickers yelled back.

Sway, meanwhile, oversaw a superstar summit: John Legend, The-Dream and Justin Bieber sharing some love. Legend had to say hello to Snooks, who had just finished asking Bieber to call her when he turns 18 after unsuccessfully trying to get him to change his signature hairstyle into a blowout.

Snooki had another moment on the carpet when Perry walked by and joked that she'd have to bend wayyyy over to get into the frame. "Ugh! I'm gonna go kill myself!" Snook groaned when she couldn't get her chance to snap a photo with her major crush, Usher. As they tend to on Planet Snooki, things looked up just seconds later when "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi came by with her two artists, Jason Derülo and Iyaz and Snickers did a quick duet on 'Yaz's "Replay."

"She's pretty good. You should sign her!" he told Kara.

"Ahhhhh!" That was the sound of mutual elation as Snicks and Fergie locked eyes and hugged it out. The Black Eyed Peas singer explained that she turned bandmate Taboo onto "Shore" by screening it on her laptop for him at the airport. "We fist-pump every night!" Fergie said. "Snooki, I love you!"

In an only-at-the-Grammys moment, Snook and Miley Cyrus ended the shore girl's big night by sharing hair-care secrets about Southern big hair and guidos. "It's my favorite show," said superfan Cyrus, who named Snook as her favorite castmate. "I'm being you for Halloween. I'm doing the poof and everything. My boyfriend's gonna be Ronnie ... or the Situation — we haven't decided."

"This was the most amazing time of my life," Snooki said as the carpet got rolled up. "I love meeting celebrities, and they love meeting me. It was so awesome."

The 2010 Grammy Awards may be over, but MTV News will have much, much more from the show, including reports on your favorite nominees, party photos, behind-the-scenes video and much more from the big show!
