'Jersey Shore' Cast Looks Forward To Season Two

'We're all pretty excited,' Mike 'The Situation' says on the 'Today Show.'

Fresh off her stint as MTV News' Grammy red-carpet correspondent, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and her "Jersey Shore" castmates sat down with the "Today Show" on Monday (February 1) to talk about their second season. The show's return to MTV, airing this summer, was just announced on Saturday.

"The situation is, we're all in agreement: We're all going to be coming back for a second season, and we're all pretty excited," Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino told Meredith Vieira, adding that Ronnie Magro was so excited about the show's return "he slept in" and missed the "Today" interview.

Despite the overwhelming the criticism the show had received, it has managed to bring in a huge audience every week and has made its cast instant celebrities. Pauly D (Delvecchio) attributed their success to the show's "raw" nature. "I just think it's different," he said. "It's a different show. I mean, you put a bunch of teenage people together — well, we're in our 20s — in the summer, in the Jersey Shore, and we're just having a good time. There's not another show around here that's like that. It's just different."

The Situation assured Vieira that they weren't just acting up for the cameras in season one. "There's no 'characters' about it," he said. "When you're in a group setting, everybody's going to have their own personality and there's going to be some clashing of personalities. And you're gonna get different relationships between all of us. We're all just real people, and whatever you see on TV, you're gonna get [in real life]."
