Millions of "Twilight" fans all over the world would love nothing more than to participate in a contact sport with hunky leading man [movieperson id="373803"]Taylor Lautner[/movieperson]. In two weeks, they might not get the opportunity to score with Taylor, but at least they'll be able to watch him get sweaty.
The 17-year-old actor has signed on to play in the fourth annual DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl, a flag-football game that serves as part of the weekend festivities surrounding the Super Bowl. According to the satellite-TV provider, the game will feature former NFL pros Troy Aikman and Warren Moon serving as quarterbacks of the two teams.
In addition to Lautner, the teams will be comprised of such celebrities as Chace Crawford, Jessica Szohr, Victoria's Secret model Marisa Miller, Christian Slater, celebrity food connoisseur Guy Fieri and "Entourage" star Kevin Dillon. Traditionally played with both male and female participants, the Beach Bowl takes place in the sand with teams of seven. Tens of thousands of fans turned out for last year's show, which featured Blake Lively, Penn Badgley and Maria Menounos.
Immediately following the game and trophy presentations, the All-American Rejects will perform a post-game concert. This year's festivities will be overseen by Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning, who will coach one of the teams. The festivities can be seen by DirecTV viewers on the 101 Network.
A professed football fan, Lautner was spotted this past weekend at the Colts game in Indianapolis alongside actor Rob Lowe. With the Colts heading to the big game against the New Orleans Saints, there's a good chance Taylor might be sticking around for the Super Bowl itself, scheduled to be played one day after he takes the field for the Beach Bowl on February 6.
