Our favorite couples in 2009 met while working on set or working the red carpet. Some flaunted their love and devotion, and some tried to keep it under wraps. But at the end of the day, they made a case for the existence of true love and gave hope to all of us.
After they began dating in November 2008, "The Office" star and his "Devil Wears Prada" girlfriend announced their engagement this past August. Although Jim — uh, we mean John — is married to Pam on television, in real life his heart belongs only to Emily. Plus, John has a great sense of humor about being the "sexiest groom alive." He recently joked that his TV wedding helped prepare him for married life. Aww, how cute!
In 2008, they only had a sort-of wedding. But they took Tom Cruise's advice and finally had the wedding of Heidi's dreams when they married in April, with the "Hills" cast in attendance. Although they stirred up some trouble on "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!," it was their feud with Al Roker that got them a slew of headlines. However, the real question is whether or not these two can agree about the about the future of their family. We'll keep you posted.
Sometimes at the Video Music Awards, you win more than a Moonman. After hanging at the 2008 VMAs, Katy and Russell went public at the 2009 show in NYC. Soon after, he was talking about embracing monogamy and the two were seen partying all over the world together. Since they both seem to enjoy kissing girls, it's a match made in heaven.
They play a couple in the upcoming rom-com "Valentine's Day," but rumor has it the two were method acting. After filming scenes for the flick over the summer, the pair started hanging out. Neither has confirmed the romance, but they've always spoken highly of one another while dancing around questions about their relationship. And we did see that suggestive wink girl Taylor gave boy Taylor on "Saturday Night Live."
This alleged couple really had everyone talking this year. They were seen canoodling several times (at a Kings of Leon concert and in Paris) and when asked about it, always played the "just good friends" card. (Or got angry everyone was still asking about the alleged relationship.) So who knows what's really going on? Here's hoping that we find out in 2010.
