After millions of small hints from everyone ranging from Penn Badgley to Leighton Meester to Lady Gaga herself, a quick snippet from Gaga's epic November 16 "Gossip Girl" appearance, in the episode billed as "The Last Days of Disco Stick," has been released.
Pumping the opening battle cry from "Bad Romance," whose video was released on Tuesday, Gaga is seen twirling the train on her 35-foot-long dress while men dance behind her. It isn't much, but it was definitely enough to whet the appetites of Gaga fans who are eagerly awaiting her cameo on the show about her hometown.
This week, E! News confirmed Badgley's hints to MTV News that the episode and her performance will somehow be linked to the story line of his character, Dan Humphrey. After being involved in a threesome in a previous episode, Dan and his lovers Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) and Olivia (Hilary Duff) must work together through Gaga's performance.
Meanwhile, other details have emerged about Gaga's appearance. Apparently, she's brought to NYU by Blair (Meester) because she wants to impress the theater kids at her school with a private concert or, as Meester told MTV News, a "cabaret" of sorts.
"I really sat down with the writers," Lady Gaga explained. "I was like, 'Look, I want to do this, and the reason I want to do this is because I am trying to say something that is not mainstream in a mainstream capacity. So if I can say it on your show, that would be, like, a real coup d'état for me as a performance artist.' "
