Death Cab For Cutie, Dead Weather To Perform At mtvU Woodie Awards

Best Video nominees Matt and Kim will also perform at the show, which airs December 4 at 10 p.m.

The forecast for the 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards: dark, with a chance of nudity.

That's because vampire aficionados Death Cab for Cutie, Jack White's rough-and-tumble murk-rock outfit the [artist id="3171383"]Dead Weather[/artist] and frequently nude indie duo Matt and Kim have been confirmed as performers at the sixth annual awards show, which showcases the best and brightest as chosen by college students across the country.

The 2009 Woodies will take place November 18 at New York's Roseland Ballroom and will air on MTV, MTV2, mtvU and Palladia on Friday, December 4, at 10 p.m. ET.

All three acts also have clips — [artist id="710356"]Death Cab[/artist]'s "Grapevine Fires," Matt and Kim's "Lessons Learned" and the Dead Weather's "Treat Me Like Your Mother" — up for Best Video at the show. Other nominees include the Kings of Leon, Drake, Kid Cudi and Green Day.

It's not known what song the Weather will perform, but Matt and Kim will do "Lessons" (no word on whether or not they'll do it in the buff) and Death Cab will be performing "Meet Me on the Equinox," the much-discussed first single from the "New Moon" soundtrack. This also marks the second time Death Cab have performed at the Woodies; in 2005, they shared the stage with Matisyahu, Little Brother and Saul Williams.

In keeping with the spirit of the awards, fans will be picking the winners in each category. Voting is now open at [url id=""][/url] and will run until November 16.
