Katy Perry, Pink, Hayley Williams Bash Kanye West's VMA Rant

Celebs hit Twitter from their Radio City Music Hall seats to defend Taylor Swift.

Kanye West might have had the most memorable moment of the 2009 VMAs -- which says a lot, given [article id="1621395"]Lady Gaga's eye-popping fashion and performance[/article], Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' electrifying love letter to New York, Madonna and Janet Jackson's [article id="1621392"]tribute to Michael Jackson[/article] and the [article id="1621408"]extended trailer for "New Moon."[/article]

But it was when Kanye jumped onstage while Taylor Swift was accepting her award for Best Female Video that really had people talking. "I'm sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time," West declared during Swift's speech.

It was a moment that had many of the artists in the Radio City Music Hall crowd pretty upset.

"F--- u Kanye," Katy Perry tweeted while at the show. "It's like you stepped on a kitten."

[article id="1621411"]Pink, who performed at the show[/article], wrote a few tweets about Kanye's rant. "Kanye West is the biggest piece of sh-- on earth. Quote me," she wrote. "My heart goes out to Taylor Swift. She is a sweet and talented girl and deserved her moment. She should know we all love her. Beyonce is a classy lady. I feel for her, too. It's not her fault at all, and her and Taylor did their thing. And douche bag got kicked out."

Kings of Leon's Nathan Followill expressed sadness for losing a Moonman, also noting that he didn't agree with West's tantrum. "We lost damnit. Maybe next year," he wrote. "At least we got to see the worst haircut since 1984 try to steal the spotlight from lovely Taylor Swift."

Perez Hilton very simply said, "WTF Kanye????" Paramore's Hayley Williams added, "Taylor swift, y'all. #TeamTaylor."

MTV News' VMA Twitter correspondent iJustine wrote, "Kanye West sucks!!! Totally just dissed Taylor Swift for winning best female artist. Jealous little non-tweeting punk!"

Jack Barakat from All Time Low noted that perhaps something had affected Kanye's judgment when he jumped onstage. "Kanye smells like he's [had] at least one drink."

"The Hills" crew also weighed in. Lo Bosworth wrote, "We love Taylor Swift. Wow, Kanye -- manners? My goodness."

Heidi Montag wrote, "Congrats @taylorswift13 on your VMA!!! You deserve it more than anyone!! I saw the devil in action when Kanye west stole your mic! U rock!!! @taylorswift13 don't let that evil steal your thunder!!!!! This is your big night!!"

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards might have wrapped, but the party is far from over. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes updates, party reports and much more.
