Miss USA Praises Heidi Montag's Miss Universe Performance

'I thought it was pretty good,' Kristen Dalton says.

Audrina Patridge may not have been impressed with Heidi Montag's performance of "Body Language" at the Miss Universe pageant last month, but Heidi is still gaining quite a fanbase. The latest fan is Miss USA, Kristen Dalton, who placed in the top 10 at the pageant after Montag's show-stealing debut.

"I thought it was pretty good, because she's known as being a reality-TV star, so it's cool that she came out as a performer, as a dancer and singer," Dalton told UsMagazine.com. "I thought she did a great job as a performer."

In the weeks following the performance, Montag's "Hills" co-stars and friends congratulated her for a job well done. "I love 'Body Language.' Blown away. She's never looked better. I thought she did absolutely amazing," Stephanie Pratt said of her sister-in-law's performance. "I think she really could have blown it, and I really think this is a career possibility."

Meanwhile, Kristin Cavallari added in a later review of the show, "I was really impressed. It reminded me of Britney Spears at the VMAs — whatever year that was — when she ripped off her suit and was, like, nude with sparkles. She kind of looked like that. She looked like she'd put a lot of hard work into it, and it paid off."

But Patridge said she didn't think that Heidi has worked as hard as other aspiring artists to have gained the chance to perform on a show as big as Miss Universe. "I just don't think she's taking it that serious," she said. "And that's what's kind of disappointing for me, for music lovers out there."
