Eminem, Rick Ross To Pay Tribute To Def Jam At VH1′s ‘Hip Hop Honors’

Show -- also featuring Mary J. Blige, Ludacris, Young Jeezy -- will air October 13 on VH1.

It’s the label that brought acts like [artist id="932"]LL Cool J[/artist], the [artist id="968"]Beastie Boys[/artist], [artist id="939"]Public Enemy[/artist], [artist id="16378"]Slick Rick[/artist], [artist id="1269"]Jay-Z[/artist] and [artist id="961097"]Ludacris[/artist] to the world, and now, 25 years after it launched in a New York University dorm room, Def Jam Records continues to lead the way, boasting a roster that includes the likes of [artist id="1230523"]Kanye West[/artist] and [artist id="1940303"]Rihanna[/artist].

And on October 13, a host of elite artists — including [artist id="502642"]Eminem[/artist], [artist id="2000082"]Rick Ross[/artist], [artist id="854"]Mary J. Blige[/artist], [artist id="1243444"]Young Jeezy[/artist], [artist id="961097"]Ludacris[/artist] and [artist id="1164800"]Fabolous[/artist] — will celebrate Def Jam’s 25th anniversary with performances at VH1′s “Hip Hop Honors 2009″ show. But they’re not the only ones lining up to pay their respects.
DMX, Method Man and Redman, the Roots, Kid Rock, Trey Songz, Ja Rule, Onyx, Warren G and Public Enemy are also scheduled to perform at the sixth-annual Honors, which will be taped at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House and premiere at 9 p.m. ET/PT on October 13 on VH1. “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan will once again serve as host for the evening. Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon and Brett Ratner will be on hand as presenters.
