[artist id="1269"]Jay-Z[/artist] might not be in the project hallways all day anymore, like he rapped his recent hit [article id="1615020"]"D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune),"[/article] but the legendary MC returned to his old stomping grounds over the weekend at the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn, New York.
There, Jay managed to turn a lazy Sunday into one of the most buzzed-about days in the borough this summer, when he showed up with famed talk show host Oprah Winfrey. Pictures of the two soon spread over the Internet on a number of blogs and Web sites. [artist id="1940303"]Rihanna[/artist] reportedly was present as well.
Jay and Winfrey were on hand for a lengthy interview on the steps of his grandmother's old building, his camp conformed to MTV News on Monday (August 10).
It's safe to assume the discussion will be a part of a segment on Jay-Z for an upcoming Winfrey show: His long-awaited next LP, [article id="1617577"]The Blueprint 3,[/article] is due in stores on September 11. The rapper will be on a heavy promotional run for the project, his first to be released on Roc Nation after Jay severed ties with his longtime recording home Def Jam earlier this year; he reportedly bought out his contract for upward of $ 5 million.
Jay's been plenty visible lately. Last week it announced Jay-Z would be [article id="1617739"]Jay Leno's first musical guest[/article] on the late night comic's new prime time show on NBC. He wrapped a shoot in New York on Friday for his latest single, [article id="1617900"]"Run This Town,"[/article] featuring [artist id="1230523"]Kanye West[/artist] and Rihanna. Then he headlined Los Angeles radio station Power 106's [article id="1617947"]Powerhouse concert[/article] on Saturday night.
