Michael Jackson's Death Wasn't 'Natural,' Katherine Jackson Says

'I don't think he just died of natural causes,' MJ's mom tells Geraldo Rivera.

We've already heard [article id="1615735"]Michael Jackson's father[/article] and sister say they think there was something suspicious about the King of Pop's death on June 25. Now, after more than a month of silence, Jackson's mother, Katherine, has reportedly spoken up for the first time and said that she, too, thinks there was something suspicious about the 50-year-old pop icon's sudden death.

Talking by phone with Fox News' Geraldo Rivera on Sunday, Katherine Jackson spoke for the first time since Michael's death and hinted that she thinks something was amiss. Asked by Rivera how she felt about the singer's physician, [article id="1616861"]Dr. Conrad Murray[/article], "taking all the fall" for Jackson's death -- seemingly referring to the manslaughter investigation into the Texas cardiologist's purported role in administering drugs to Jackson in his final hours -- Mrs. Jackson said of her son, "I don't think he just died of natural causes or whatever. He's too young for that. Something happened. I don't know what it was, and I can't say."

Though she did not elaborate on what she thinks might have killed [artist id="1102"]Michael[/artist], the Jackson family was so suspicious of the circumstances surrounding the singer's death that they ordered a second autopsy on his body. The results of that independent autopsy and the official one conducted by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office have not yet been released.

A coroner's office official said last week that despite hopes that the results would be available this week, the release of the information is being delayed indefinitely by the continuing investigation into the singer's death. In the brief, taped telephone interview with Rivera, Mrs. Jackson denied reports that she is estranged from family patriarch Joseph Jackson and that he is not allowed into the family's Encino, California, compound to see his grandchildren.

[article id="1617430"]Katherine Jackson is scheduled[/article] to be in a Los Angeles court on Monday (August 3) to finalize the custody arrangement she hammered out last week with Jackson's ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, as well as await word from the judge on her attorney's request to give her a stronger say in the administering of Jackson's estate.

Jackson told Rivera that Michael's three children are "doing fine" and having fun playing with their cousins. "It's been a month already, and I feel like it happened yesterday. It's very hard for me."
