Lil Wayne's 'Rebirth' Delayed Yet Again

Will Weezy's new LP be worth the wait? Our hip-hop experts deliberate, in 'Off the Dome.'

Lil Wayne's [article id="1613286"]Rebirth[/article] isn't coming out next month after all. Weezy just announced that the album has been delayed again. He's still working on it. While there is some speculation that it will come out in September, sources in Weezy's camp tell us that there is no confirmed release date at this time but that there have been no problems in the album's recording process. The holdup is simply that [artist id="510062"]Wayne's[/artist] schedule is extremely hectic, and he's been busy gearing up for the [article id="1613926"]America's Most Wanted Music Festival[/article]. Still, [artist id="2447318"]Weezy[/artist] is on the projected list of [artist id="2461228"]Cash Money[/artist] and [artist id="1900172"]Young Money[/artist] albums slated to drop this year, along with LPs by [artist id="2545682"]Drake[/artist], [artist id="1233850"]Birdman[/artist], [artist id="2390711"]G. Malone[/artist], [artist id="3006815"]2 Pistols[/artist] and Weezy's Young Money crew.

Well, how about we stop stressing Wayne and let art happen when it happens? Did we already forget that Tha Carter III got pushed back damn near a whole year before it came out? That record [article id="1589491"]did OK[/article], didn't it?

While a September launch is not sounding like the likeliest of scenarios, throwing Wayne into the mix of albums coming out that month would give an added twist to an already heavy few weeks of planned releases.

Today, myself and Rahman Dukes sat down and talked about some of the possibilities. Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Gucci Mane, Fat Joe, Raekwon the Chef and some others have already announced September arrivals for their LPs. Wouldn't it be crazy to have Wayne and Jay-Z box in a first-week showdown? Or a Wayne/ 50 first-week showdown? We'll see how everything pans out. Click the video to hear more of what we had to say.
