It seems someone else is mad at Perez Hilton after an alleged altercation between the gossip blogger and [artist id=”30064″]Black Eyed Peas[/artist]’ Will.I.Am in Toronto on Sunday. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) wants Hilton to apologize for the slur he used against Will.I.Am during their argument.
In a statement released to TMZ, the organization said that Hilton, who is openly gay, should apologize for calling Will.I.Am a “f—ing f—-t” during the altercation. “We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story.”
The statement continues: “For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, ’The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.”
Perez Hilton stirred up controversy in April when he asked Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean whether more states should legalize gay marriage.
It has been a case of he said/ he said since news broke of the alleged incident at Toronto’s Cobra club. After Perez took to Twitter to announce that he had been assaulted by Will.I.Am and his manager Polo Molina, both Perez and Will have released videos attempting to discredit one another.
On Monday, a video of the incident was released, and although the footage is fuzzy, it shows Perez getting into an argument with Will and Molina, and a scuffle breaking out. Someone shouts, “You just assaulted Perez Hilton,” but it is unclear exactly what happened.
