‘Twilight’ Or ‘Slumdog’ For Best Movie? Celebs Weigh In

The stars give their opinions on the two biggest films battling it out at the MTV Movie Awards.

At this Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, there is a clear battle raging between [movie id=”364450″]”Slumdog Millionaire”[/movie] and [movie id=”369195″]”Twilight”[/movie] for the title of Best Movie. Both films scored big with moviegoers and celebrities, so MTV News rounded up a bunch of famous folks to ask them whether they’re on Team Twilight or Team Slumdog.

Although most people were fans of both, when it came time to make a decision, it was Team Slumdog for the win. For them, the Oscar-winning film really seemed to capture the essence of what they love about movies. But, of course, there will always be those steadfast, card-carrying Twilighters.

Taylor Momsen: “I would pick ’Slumdog Millionaire.’ It was totally not what I was expecting. The little boy in the beginning was so cute. I couldn’t handle it.”

[artist id=”1624630″]Jesse McCartney[/artist]: “I’m going to have to go with the ’Slumdog’ team. I thought it was a very creative film.”

Jordana Brewster: ” ’Twilight’! I really did love ’Twilight,’ but I really did love ’Slumdog Millionaire.’ So those two. [But Kristen Stewart] is a really good actress. I really love Kristen Stewart.”

Spencer Pratt: ” ’Slumdog’! We love that movie. The storytelling [was really good]. I’ve never seen a movie told in that way. Visually stimulating.”

Heidi Montag: “I haven’t seen ’Twilight’ yet. It scares me a little bit. Vampires!”

Anna Faris: “I love ’Slumdog Millionaire’ — it got its accolades. I kind of root for ’Twilight.’ It was such a fun, amazing movie.”

Will the vampires grab more trophies than the slumdog? What was the year’s ultimate onscreen WTF moment? It’s up to you to decide the winners of the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. Vote now, and tune in on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, when the big show airs live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
