Man Shot Outside Drake Concert In Chicago

Victim was injured as fans were leaving venue after Lil Wayne protégé's set.

A 21-year-old man was shot outside a [artist id="1283198"]Drake[/artist] concert early Saturday morning in Chicago. The Chicago Sun-Times reported that an unidentified man was shot in the buttocks outside the House of Blues around 4 a.m. when more than 1,000 people were leaving the show by the Lil Wayne protégé and Sly Polaroid.

The victim, listed in stable condition, reportedly got into an altercation with a man who displayed a handgun, shot the victim and fled the scene, according to Officer JoAnn Taylor, a spokesperson for the Chicago Police Department. Taylor said that the assailant has not yet been captured. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, officials have not revealed whether the two men attended the concert. The shooting was one of 18 in Chicago over the weekend, which resulted in five deaths and 13 injuries.

According to, Drake took the stage at the venue at around 3 a.m. and performed a 45-minute set. But several fights broke out in the club, and patrons were asked to leave.

The site reported that Drake canceled a planned afterparty due to the rash of violence in the city over the weekend.
