To the delight of her Stateside fans, [artist id="12561"]Kylie Minogue[/artist] will embark upon her first North American tour this this fall. The singer — who is a superstar overseas but last registered a U.S. smash with "Can't Get You Out of My Head" in 2002 — will make five stops in the U.S. and one in Canada. If the production values of her previous European tours are any indication, the show will be elaborate.
"I've wanted to tour America and Canada for years and know that fans have been waiting a long time for this," said Minogue. "I'm thrilled that the opportunity has finally arrived."
No stranger to adversity, Minogue acknowledges her good fortune, and is extremely grateful for all of her opportunities, both in her career and her life. She has won a long-fought battle with breast cancer, and credits her friends and loved ones with helping her overcome this hurdle. "It's true that you have a different appreciation for where you are," said Minogue, "and for the opportunities that you have, and of the people around you, the love that was shown, and the friendship that you kind of need."
In addition to her upcoming tour, Minogue plans to enter the studio once more to record her 11th studio album. And if videos of her European performances serve as any indication, this tour will be memorable: Think robots and lasers! Tickets go on sale Thursday.
