When Heidi Montag decided to wear a strapless Monique Lhullier gown to [article id="1610024"]her wedding to Spencer Pratt[/article] on Saturday in Pasadena, California, she went for the "true bride look," said Tara Kraft, Star magazine's beauty director.
"I thought Heidi's dress was absolutely beautiful," Kraft told MTV News. "She looked like an ethereal princess walking down the aisle. ... It was very flowy. She looked like a true bride. She went for what a princess bride would look like."
Although she pulled off the princess-bride look, Kraft likened dress to an '80s classic. "The one thing about Heidi's dress was that it was weighed down a little bit, 'cause Heidi was totally blinged out. It a little bit reminded me of Madonna in her 'Like a Virgin' video," she said. "But I have to say in Heidi's defense: What girl, if offered to wear all those jewels, wouldn't frost herself?"
All bling aside, Kraft loved the fact that Heidi changed up her usual over-the-top style for a more classic sophistication for the wedding. "Heidi definitely was pulled together," she said. "She had soft waves. It looked feminine and special, because sometimes Heidi can look a little done, and she looked a little less done. It looked soft and beautiful."
In addition to giving Heidi's look a thumbs-up, Kraft also approved of Spencer's suit and cleanly shaven face. "Spencer looked dashing! In fact, I don't think he's looked better," she said. "He just looked very fashionable, and he cleaned himself up, for sure. That beard was gone, and he just looked pretty hip."
