[artist id="1940303"]Rihanna[/artist]‘s lawyer filed a motion last week requesting the return of nearly $1.4 million in jewelry that she was wearing on the night when boyfriend Chris Brown allegedly attacked her .
The Associated Press reports that lawyer Donald Etra filed a motion for the return of three rings and a pair of earrings that had been entered into evidence following the February 8 incident that resulted in Brown being charged with felony counts of assault and making criminal threats.
According to the motion filed by Etra, Brown’s attorney and the Los Angeles Police Department detective in charge of the case don’t object to the return of the items because photos of the items can be used if the case goes to trial.
Brown has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the case is due back in court on Wednesday (April 29), when the judge will consider the motion on the return of the jewelry.
The AP reported that the filing by Etra includes a general description of the jewelry, which identifies the items as being made of “yellow metal,” with all but one including “white stones.” The request notes that the jewelry was loaned to the singer — who had attended Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy gala with Brown in the hours before the alleged incident — by four companies that have asked for the items to be returned.
