Katy Perry Isn't Dating Josh Groban

Groban's rep denies relationship rumors, calling the singers 'very close friends.'

Earlier this week, Perez Hilton reported that [artist id="1962774"]Katy Perry[/artist] was dating [artist id="1225988"]Josh Groban[/artist]. Well, apparently the rumor is just that: a rumor. Despite Hilton's report that "they've been trying to keep it very low-profile," the "I Kissed a Girl" singer and the operatic-pop star are nothing more than friends, according to Groban's rep.

"Josh and Katy are very close friends and hang out, but they are not a couple," Luke Burland told People in response to the relationship rumors.

Since her split from Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy earlier this year, Perry has been linked not only to Groban, but also Benji Madden after she and the Good Charlotte guitarist were seen hanging out in Vegas together. That relationship rumor was also refuted as false by Perry herself.

"It's two pseudo-famous people sitting next to each other ... doesn't mean we were bumping uglies!" she wrote on her blog. "You know I don't just do that with anyone! That's just how the media works, as you can tell. ... Benji is a nice young fellow, but my heart really belongs to [my cat] Kitty Purry."

She echoed the sentiment in a previous interview when asked about her love life. She jokingly told TV Guide that 2009 was going to be man-free. "I've actually taken a vow of celibacy this year," the Grammy nominee said. "No kissing anyone. Just my cat: Kitty Purry."
