No Doubt Say They 'All Agreed' On 'Gossip Girl' Song
Most of the stars of "Gossip Girl" were probably in elementary school when [artist id="1003"]No Doubt[/artist] burst on the scene with Tragic Kingdom in 1995, but that doesn't mean the Upper East Siders won't appreciate what Gwen Stefani and crew have to offer during [article id="1606033"]their appearance on the show[/article] May 11.
The band won't be performing at some stuffy social gala at the Met; instead, No Doubt will be part of a special episode that flashes back to the '80s and focuses on Lily van der Woodsen before she brought Serena into the world. The flashback will give "Gossip Girl" fans a taste of what they can expect from the show's spin-off this fall.
No Doubt -- who will be known as Snowed Out on the show -- will be performing "Stand and Deliver" by Adam & the Ants. "We just went through a bunch of songs, and that was one that we all agreed on. We all loved it," bassist Tony Kanal told Entertainment Weekly about how they chose the song.
Stefani added: "It took us, like, five minutes to pick that. We normally just e-mail, but we got on the phone for that one."
The rockers -- who decided on the song after tossing out Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy" and Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" -- said decisions are easier to make these days. "We're quick like that now!" Kanal laughed. "As you get older, you're just smarter."
Get that, Chuck Bass? With age comes wisdom.
