Just a day after Dawn Richard broke the news that Danity Kane are over for good, Day26 said they might know why the ladies couldn't resolve their issues: They weren't honest with themselves and their fans.
"I think even with the [artist id="2400155"]Danity Kane[/artist] situation, I think they kept things secret to the public," Will Taylor told MTV News while in the studio working on the band's new album. "So their breakup was a big surprise. That takes a lot to keep all that bottled up inside, and they exploded to the point they can never return."
He also wasn't surprised to learn that Shannon Bex, who at the end of last season was one of the three remaining members of the band, didn't return to continue working with the group for this upcoming season of "Making the Band."
"Shannon wanted to be all five," he said. "She wanted to be Danity Kane. She had a whole 'nother life. So at the end of the day, she said she wasn't going to come."
Meanwhile, Will's bandmate Qwanell "Que" Mosley is still pretty perplexed as to what exactly happened to Bex that made her not want to try again. "I don't even know what happened to that," he said. "It hurt all of us, 'cause we were family. It hurts, and we're human. We were family, and when your family does shady stuff and they don't apologize for it or fix it, it's like, 'Damn.' "
