Beyonce To Sing For Obamas’ First Dance At Inaugural Ball

The president and first lady will have their traditional first dance Tuesday at the 'Neighborhood Ball.'

Grammys are nice. Golden Globe and Oscar nominations aren’t bad, either. But singing the first song for the president and first lady on inauguration night? Priceless.

According to Variety, that honor will belong to none other than [artist id="1236911"]Beyoncé[/artist] on Tuesday night at the “Neighborhood Ball.” When President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama make their first stop of the evening at the Washington Convention Center, B will serenade them with an as-yet-unannounced song for the traditional first dance. (Given the president-elect’s use of several classic Motown numbers during the course of the election, we’re guessing that the tune will be a well-known Motor City hit.)

Also on hand and performing at the event will be Beyoncé’s husband, [artist id="1269"]Jay-Z[/artist], as well as [artist id="976"]Mariah Carey[/artist], [artist id="503203"]Alicia Keys[/artist], [artist id="504144"]Shakira[/artist], [artist id="1138"]Sting[/artist], [artist id="501090"]Faith Hill[/artist], [artist id="854"]Mary J. Among the presenters at the ball, which will be telecast by ABC, are [movieperson id="65823"]Denzel Washington[/movieperson], [movieperson id="233447"]Jessica Alba[/movieperson], [movieperson id="16710"]Leonardo DiCaprio[/movieperson], [movieperson id="205185"]Ray Romano[/movieperson], [movieperson id="21681"]Jamie Foxx[/movieperson], [movieperson id="35938"]Queen Latifah[/movieperson] and [artist id="2436553"]Kate Walsh[/artist].
