In a post on her Web site Tuesday morning (July 18), model/actress Pamela Anderson broke the news that, after eight years of playing the field, she's about to settle down once again. Her post makes no mention of the lucky lad who popped the question, but Tuesday afternoon, a rep for Anderson confirmed her engagement to rocker Kid Rock.
"Yes, I'm finally getting remarried," Anderson wrote on her site. "It's been a whirlwind ... spontaneous, but well thought through. Feels like I've been stuck in a time warp. I've raised my kids alone in hope of a miracle. Well, my miracle came and went. And came back and came back, because he knew that I'd wake up one day and realize that I was waiting for nothing. I'm moving on ... I feel like I'm finally free ... I'm in love."
This is the second time Anderson and Rock (born Robert Ritchie) have become engaged to one another (see "Kid Rock, Pam Anderson Makin' It Legal"). The couple, who began dating in 2001, split up back in 2003 — one year after he'd asked for her hand in marriage; they have dated off and on ever since. Anderson had also been engaged to model Marcus Schenkenberg before their 2001 breakup.
The marriage will be Rock's first and Anderson's second. A July 29 wedding aboard a yacht near Saint Tropez is planned.
Anderson was married to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee for three years before the couple — who have two sons — divorced in 1998. They married on February 19, 1995, after knowing one another for a mere 96 hours. Anderson filed for divorce — and later reconciled with Lee — twice during the couple's marriage.
