TomKat have a kittie.
Tom Cruise and fiancee Katie Holmes — whose yearlong relationship has been chronicled down to the finest detail in the tabloids — welcomed a baby girl on Tuesday (April 18).
The child, named Suri — which means "princess" in Hebrew and "red rose" in Persian, according to Cruise's publicist — weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches in length. Mother and daughter are doing well, the spokesperson said.
Cruise and Holmes — or TomKat, as the tabloids dubbed them — have been ecstatic about their relationship to the press since they began dating in April. The couple got engaged at the top of the Eiffel Tower in June (see [article id="1504271"]"Tom Cruise Proposes To Katie Holmes At Eiffel Tower"[/article]) and announced their pregnancy in October (see [article id="1510951"]"Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes Expecting Their First Child"[/article]).
Suri is the first child for Holmes, 27, and the third for Cruise, 43. He has a 13-year-old daughter, Isabella, and an 11-year-old son, Connor, whom he adopted with his previous wife, Nicole Kidman. They divorced in 2001.
The couple has not announced a wedding date, but Cruise has hinted it will be this summer. His next movie, "Mission: Impossible III," opens May 5.
