Lynyrd Skynyrd's New Live CDs

Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jeff Buckley, Junkie XL, Pearl Jam, Longstocking...

Southern-fried rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd are back, but did they ever go away? On their latest, the double-live CD Lyve From Steel Town, surviving members guitarist Gary Rossington, keyboardist Billy Powell and bassist Leon Wilkeson, along with vocalist Johnny Van Zant (the lookalike, soundalike brother of late founder Ronnie Van Zant) and the rest of the current lineup, carry the "Sweet Home Alabama" torch. Tracks include "That Smell," of course, "Gimme Three Steps," of course, "Travelin' Man," of course, and a landmark, nearly-14-minute version of "Free Bird," of course.
