Magnet

I never thought of that before. "Blue..." was written by my brother. I wrote the music and he wrote the words 20-30 years ago

MAGNET Hello. This is Moe. Send me your questions and maybe I will answer them.

Mike Saw you play with your band in Atlanta. Who was that band? They were

excellent.

MAGNET Actually, they are just called Moe Tucker. Drums: John Sluggett; guitar: Sunny Vincent; bass Daniel Hutchins.

Velvet What'd you think of Yo La Tango as the Velvet Underground in that movie, I Shot Andy Warhol? I thought the movie was cool, but them playing the Velvets was a little on the lame side.

MAGNET They played so little you couldn't see or hear much.

Mike Do you plan to do more stuff with The Half Japanese?

MAGNET I don't have a plan, but you never know...

Mike Which do prefer -- your solo stuff or the Magnet stuff?

MAGNET I like them both, or I wouldn't do either.

Mike You have no preference?

MAGNET I love everything.

Chinaski Who would win in a fight: Steve Albini or Weezer?

MAGNET I don't know who they are.

Mike When you produce, what is your approach? How did you influence the The Half Japanese album you produced?

MAGNET My approach is to have ideas. I don't run the board or anything. The Half Japanese was so long ago I couldn't really say something honest about it.

franko Have your kids listened to the Velvets yet?

MAGNET Oh sure. They like some, and they don't like some.

mrowan How close do you think "Blue All the Way to Canada" is to Lou's "Last Great American Whale"?

MAGNET I never thought of that before. "Blue..." was written by my brother. I wrote the music and he wrote the words 20-30 years ago

mrowan Moe, I'm thinking of getting a job at WalMart this summer. Any advice?

MAGNET Don't! Unless you don't mind singing the Wallmart cheer every morning.

franko Did you tell your fellow Walmart employees that you were in a rock band? Did they ever go out and buy your music and think it was freaked out?

MAGNET I never bothered telling anyone down here. They wouldn't know about it.

Mike Moe, I read how you miss Sterling. Please write more songs, though.

MAGNET I will. I just have to get my thoughts together. I haven't been able to concentrate since Sterling died. I am just getting back into things.

Velvet What was Andy Warhol like?

MAGNET He was sweet as could be.

Thanks a lot for participating, hopefully maybe we can do this again

sometime!
