My, What Paralyzing Teeth You Have: Queens, NIN To Tour

Initial itinerary includes 30 dates, beginning September 16 in San Diego.

Nine Inch Nails and the Queens of Stone Age will join forces this fall for a North American arena tour that kicks off September 16 in San Diego, according to Interscope Records.

The initial itinerary of 30 dates runs through a November 3 show in New York and includes a Nine Inch Nails homecoming of sorts on October 29 at the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans and a sure-to-be-spooky Halloween show in Nashville. Thunderous Canadian two-piece (and former “You Hear It First” act) Death From Above 1979 will open on the tour (see “Death From Above 1979 Are Not The Sleazebags They Appear To Be”). More dates, including some in Canada, are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Nine Inch Nails launched their world tour in support of the new With Teeth (see “Nine Inch Nails: The Upward Spiral”) with a sold-out theater tour on April 27 in San Francisco. Queens of the Stone Age dropped their fourth album, Lullabies to Paralyze, back in March (see “Queens of the Stone Age: A Stone Unturned”) and have toured nonstop since.

Both acts are currently overseas, with Nails playing festivals in Europe and Queens rocking audiences in Greece. The tour promises to not only be an ultra-heavy affair, but with three acts that seem to prefer abbreviations to actual names — NIN, QOTSA and DFA1979 — it may also be the most acronym-friendly tour of the fall.
