Bouncy teen actress/pop sensation Hilary Duff is amped to reprise her role as Lorraine Baker for the forthcoming sequel to 2003's "Cheaper by the Dozen," the smash remake of a 1950 comedy classic, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"The franchise rocks, and the sequel's gonna be fun," Duff said in a statement. Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt have also signed on for "Cheaper by the Dozen 2," once again playing the proud parents of 12 children -- Duff's character among them.

In the sequel, the vacationing Bakers end up in a competition with a perfect family of 10: mom, dad and their eight blond offspring. Eugene Levy ("American Pie," "Waiting For Guffman") has also been confirmed for the cast and will play the other family's patriarch.

Adam Shankman ("A Walk to Remember," "The Pacifier") will direct, and the film will once again be produced by Robert Simonds ("Just Married," "Herbie: Fully Loaded"), Ben Myron ("The Mod Squad"), and the first movie's director, Shawn Levy. The 2003 rendition netted more than $190 million in worldwide box-office receipts.

Fans of Duff can catch her on the big screen this summer in "The Perfect Man," playing one of a pair of daughters who try to find a new guy for their recently divorced mother, played by Heather Locklear (see [article id="1496360"]"Wanna See Hilary Duff Act Like A Bitch? Here's Your Chance"[/article]). At the moment, Duff is shooting "Material Girls" with sister Haylie (see [article id="1498340"]"Can't Get Enough Of The Duffs? Just Wait"[/article]). She'll also be touring this summer in support of her forthcoming album.
