Bruce Springsteen, Sans E Street Band, Hitting The Road

Tour kicks off April 25 in Detroit.

Bruce Springsteen is going it alone on his upcoming tour. The Boss has planned a string of 14 solo dates in support of his new album, Devils & Dust (April 26), that will kick off in Detroit the night before the album's release and is currently scheduled to take him through May 20 in Boston.

Leaving the E Street Band behind, Springsteen will hit mostly 2,500- to 5,000-seat theaters. The dates are Springsteen's first solo gigs since his 1996-97 Ghost of Tom Joad tour.

After 14 U.S. dates, Springsteen will take the one-man tour overseas for a month of similar gigs in England, Spain, Italy, Germany and Sweden.
