G-Unit's Young Buck Surrenders To Police

Rapper was wanted in connection with Vibe Awards stabbing.

Young Buck turned himself in to police in Santa Monica, California, on Friday afternoon (November 19) to face charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Police believe the G-Unit rapper, born David Darnell Brown, stabbed 26-year-old Los Angeles native Jimmy James Johnson after Johnson attacked Dr. Dre at the Vibe Awards on Monday (see "Warrant Issued For Young Buck In Vibe Awards Stabbing").

Buck was booked and then released on $500,000 bail, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. He'll be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court on December 20.

In footage of the Vibe Awards melee released by police on Friday, a man in a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black hat, believed to be Buck, is seen lunging at Johnson with a knife in his hand. Detectives are still trying to identify two other men seen with knives.

Attorneys for Buck did not return calls by press time. A publicist for the rapper could not be reached for comment. Buck's debut solo album, Straight Outta Ca$hville, debuted at #3 on the Billboard albums chart in August.
