Ask any spiky-haired kid what the worst thing is about the Warped Tour, and you'll usually get the same answer: "It's too hot outside."
Well, Warped creator Kevin Lyman has been listening, and he's decided to act. In February, he'll launch Taste of Chaos, a North American arena tour that could shape up to be a winter version of the hugely successful Warped Tour.
"Taste of Chaos will combine amazing entertainment with value for the fans, something I've been a proponent of my whole career," Lyman said in a statement. "Music will not be the only thing on the menu. There will be plenty to do, see and hear. Fans should expect some surprises."
The Used have signed on to headline the inaugural edition of the trek.
"Taste of Chaos is going to be the sickest thing that will happen next year," Used drummer Branden Steineckert said. "It's going to be an indoor, wintertime festival — like, if you could picture the Warped Tour in arenas, where it's dark and you can have a nice, intimate concert setting. And where it's not 100 degrees."
"And not $80 tickets," frontman Bert McCracken added. "We kind of have a little bit to do with organizing it, so there's a whole bunch of bands we'd like to get: My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, Underoath. It's going to be amazing, for sure."
Additional bands and dates are expected to be announced shortly.
