G-Unit's Lloyd Banks, Young Buck Team Up For 'NBA Live 2005'

Murphy Lee, Will.I.Am, D.O.C. also on soundtrack.

New tracks from Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Murphy Lee and Will.I.Am will ensure that the soundtrack to "NBA Live 2005" is a slam dunk.

Those are just a few of the artists who have contributed to the 14-song in-game soundtrack to the latest installment of the popular video-game series, which hits stores beginning October 5, according to EA Sports' spokesperson.

The G-Unit duo have lent the previously unreleased "Me Against You," while Murphy Lee's new contribution, "It's in Da Game," takes its name from EA Sports' slogan and features some help from Jazze Pha and R&B singer Jody Breeze. "Go!," by Will.I.Am, originally appeared on last year's Must B 21, an album that found the Black Eyed Peas frontman working with KRS-One, Planet Asia and A Tribe Called Quest's Phife, among others.

The exclusive music of "NBA Live 2005" comes courtesy of mixtape DJ Stat Quo; Chicago rapper Bump J, who recently collaborated with Kanye West and funk singer Rick James before he died; pioneering female rapper MC Lyte; and 23-year-old Brooklyn, New York, rapper Joell Ortiz, who secured a spot on the soundtrack by winning an EA-hosted MC battle in February.

Much of the other music in the game was produced by Terror Squad's Miami-based production team, Cool & Dre.

Last year's soundtrack featured tracks by Chingy, Lil' Flip, Outkast and a then-unknown Game, now a member of the G-Unit (see [article id="1479793"]"Sean Paul, Chingy, Outkast Lace 'Em Up For 'NBA Live' "[/article]).

Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony appears on the cover of "NBA Live 2005." Among the improvements in the latest installment are better graphics, an improved Freestyle Control that allows for custom moves and dunks, and a Dynasty Mode that lets you take your team through 25 glorious seasons. Marv Albert and Mike Fratello once again return to courtside to provide the play-by-play and commentary.
