Copy Of Upcoming U2 Album Disappears At Photo Shoot

Irish rock band's new LP isn't due until the fall.

U2's new album is out ... but not in the way that the band had intended.

A copy of the band's upcoming album — not slated to hit stores until this fall — reportedly went missing in France on Tuesday. According to The Associated Press, an unmixed version of the disc disappeared during a photo session for the album's cover art. Police in Nice told the AP that it was unclear whether the CD was lost or stolen.

Authorities reportedly questioned approximately 20 people present for the shoot. As of press time, the band still hadn't found what it was looking for.

U2 have been working on the album with producer Steve Lillywhite, who left a job at Mercury U.K. to take on the project.
