Michelle Branch will headline the Virgin College Mega Tour, a six-week trek set to begin March 27. Rooney, fresh from their cameo on "The O.C.," are on board as openers, along with singer/songwriters Gavin DeGraw and Joe Firstman.

The tour is scheduled to hit campuses from coast to coast, beginning in Richmond, Virginia, according to the tour's publicist. Seventeen shows are confirmed thus far, with additional dates expected later. Because of previous commitments, DeGraw will only perform at eight of the confirmed dates.

In addition to the main stage, an interactive kiosk village will feature giveaways from sponsors Dentyne, Volvo, Rock the Vote, and Gibson and Epiphone guitars as well as performances by new artists Tyler Hilton, Michael Tolcher and Chris Grace.

Branch and Rooney will be hitting the road on the heels of new singles. " 'Til I Get Over You" is the third single from Branch's Hotel Paper and began to surface at radio last week. Rooney's "I'm Shakin' " follows "Blueside" and "If It Were Up to Me," from their self titled debut.
