Limp Bizkit And Korn Reunite, Get 'Back 2 Basics' With New Tour

Tour to be sponsored by X-Box, which will host special events at each show.

Just as Korn's new record should remind fans of the band's early days, so will the first outing scheduled to promote it.

For the first time since 1999, Korn and Limp Bizkit will be going on the road together, to co-headline a tour.

"We're very excited about it because it's about us going back to the day when we were doing little halls and Bizkit were opening for us," singer Jonathan Davis said Monday of the upcoming Back 2 Basics Tour. "Those were the good ol' days and so we're trying to recreate that again. We always do something different when we have a new album coming out and we decided this bill would be really, really cool."

The two rock powerhouses will join forces for a dozen dates, kicking off November 10 in Las Vegas and wrapping up November 28 in Toronto. All the shows will be held in theaters or clubs, with the venue and ticket details to be announced by local radio stations.

"Those small halls are fun," Davis said, sitting in the home studio where he recently finished Korn's sixth album, Take a Look in the Mirror. "It just reminds me of when we were coming up and we enjoyed this tight, cramped little space. It was just hot and you would want to die. I just love that vibe."

Korn first met Limp Bizkit on an infamous Jacksonville, Florida, tour stop in 1995, after which Fred Durst offered free tattoos to the band. In exchange, Korn helped Bizkit get signed and the bands have been friends ever since, with guitarist Brian "Head" Welch even playing a gig with Limp (see "Korn, Snot Guitarists To Play With Bizkit At Wrestlemania").

The bands have toured together on and off over the years, but not since the Family Values Tour in 1999.

"Back in the day we always had them warm up because we loved them so much," Davis recalled. "We got along great and got in trouble together. It's great 'cause we're all friends."

The Back 2 Basics Tour will be sponsored by X-Box, which will host special events at each show, although details have not been finalized.

"We're going to be doing some cool things involving gaming during our show," Davis said. "I'm a huge gamer. I play every game when it comes out. I read the magazines ... I'm waiting for the big Christmas [flood of releases] with 35 games and I have to get them all."

Take a Look in the Mirror, which features the single "Right Now," is due November 25.
